Tina Escobar
I’m Tina Escobar, a mixed media artist drawn to the layered, intuitive process of storytelling through texture, color, and symbolism. My work is a fusion of acrylics, inks, stencils, spray paint, and mark-making — each layer reflecting moments of presence, spirit, and emotion.
I explore the spaces where nature, technology, and the unseen world meet. Birds, human figures, sacred geometry, and cosmic elements often appear in my work, sometimes deliberately, sometimes by surprise — and that’s part of the magic. I follow the feeling. Some pieces are bold and electric, others soft and quiet. I let the work lead me.
I’ve spent nearly a decade sharing creativity with others — teaching paint socials, workshops, and private lessons that invite people to loosen up, play, and trust their own artistic voice. Whether I’m painting for myself or guiding others, I believe creativity is a powerful way to reconnect to who we are.
When I’m not in the studio, I’m curating events, supporting live music, and creating space for community and creative connection here in the Coachella Valley and beyond.
Statement of Work
Artist Statement:
My work blends acrylics, inks, and mixed media to create layered, expressive pieces that explore the unseen connections between nature, energy, and spirit. I work intuitively, allowing each painting to evolve organically through mark-making, texture, and movement. My process often begins with loose, expressive backgrounds using brushes, palette knives, spray paint, and stencils. From there, symbols, figures, and subjects emerge — sometimes intentional, sometimes unexpected.
Birds, cosmic elements, and human forms frequently appear in my work as messengers or portals to deeper stories. I’m drawn to contrasts — soft and bold, light and shadow, chaos and calm — and I use color and composition to explore those tensions. Each piece is built in layers, with space for reflection, spontaneity, and storytelling.
I approach art as both a personal practice and a way to connect with others. Whether I’m creating in the studio or teaching a class, I aim to hold space for authenticity, curiosity, and play. My goal is to inspire a sense of wonder — and to remind others that there’s beauty in the process, not just the final result.
