Mark Chew

My body of work expresses the power and energy each of us has inside.  For example, the Korean War Memorial describes a country torn down the center, illustrated by mirror image segments and bonds separated.  I interviewed Korean War Veterans, also Korean families.  For the Veterans, the memorial illustrates an eternal flame to acknowledge we will never forget their sacrifices.  Another project, for the Theatre and Dance Complex for Texas Tech University had to welcome and unite a wide range of medium.  The sculpture captures the fluid movement, the raw strength, and beauty of all forms of dance and performance – The Fire Inside.

I have completed projects with architects, communities, and public art professionals for corporate, municipal, educational institutions, and non-profit clients in public spaces.
