Kellie was born and raised in the Coachella Valley… she grew up immersed in the desert and all it had to offer. Both her maternal and paternal grandparents were homesteaders in the valley, infusing in her with a strong connection with the natural surroundings, a resilient spirit , creative mind and a passion for sustainability. She started her art journey as soon as she could pick up a pencil and has enjoyed all the diverse opportunities that the creative arts have offered. From community and cooperative events, murals throughout the valley and beyond, to creating one-of-kind upcycled creations and sculptures, she always strives to challenge her knowledge, ability, and contribution to community. Her work has been featured in spaces such as Palm Desert City Hall, Idyllwild Public Library, the new Ophelia Bringas Memorial Bridge as well as the Mayor’s office in Cathedral City, Cocopah Middle School in Scottsdale Arizona, as well as several luxury estates featured in Palm Springs Modernism Week.  Alongside murals, she is currently working with local business owners to create new and exciting learning opportunities within the arts, to empower creativity, sustainability and connection in the community. She is also working with her partner as they launch a new series of sculptures and creations.

Statement of Work

Artist Statement:

I have loved art for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always known it was my pathway to expression in the world. I love to challenge myself with new spaces, surfaces, environments, and materials, which is why I enjoy murals, installations and public art.  I thrive off the inspiration and passion of others, and excel at creating unique pieces based off my clients vision. This has led me to an eclectic career and portfolio of work ranging from portraits, to bicycles, murals, to custom canvases. I am always open to the next evolution of my art career and so, alongside murals, I am currently working with local small businesses to offer unique, inclusive, fun and empowering opportunities to connect, learn, and create with others. I am also launching a new exploratory project with my partner Tyler Ontiveros (an accomplished musician and builder) around sculpture, and pairing visual arts with raw materials, lights and frequency to create unique experiences and spaces from installations to livable art creations.
