BIO

Born in Mexico City, 1979, Jorge Katthain studied Architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City (2000), Interior Design at Swinburne University and Visual Arts at RMIT University both in Melbourne Australia (2004 – 2009). After having completed his academic education he started working using bronze as a medium and ever since it has prevailed in his work for over a decade.

His work is part of several private collections and has been exhibited in Australia, England, USA and Mexico.

Statement of Work

Artist Statement:

I use sculpture as a means to explore expressions of multi-faceted or profound meaning (in a spiritual, cultural or artistic level) such as dance or yoga. My primary inspiration is the human body and how self transformation can be achieved through movement and motion.
